The Danish Kennel Club recommended Benny Jensen, Kennel “Two-Mike.” He had two female puppies, and we could meet at the ferry in Korsør. He brought the two puppies, and one of them became ours. At that time the price of a wolfhound was one month’s salary, so the price today is more humane. What we did not know at that time, was that Trille (Two Mike’s Jolly Bess) had started a life-long passion for the Irish Wolfhounds, and that we in credit got many dear friends among Wolfhound lovers. There were no doubt in our minds, that Trille should join a dog show. We brushed her nicely, and meant that she was the world’s eighth wonder. Benny Jensen saw us at the show, and took quickly Trille outside. When he came back with her, she looked different and had much less coat. After that we were better prepared to the next shows. A strange thing we did observing our first two years as Wolfhound owners! One wolfhound was not enough! So as the others – we got our second wolfhound from Lene Bang-P, Bang-P’s Casan (Thoas X INTCH DKCH Bonny), and one more Bang-P’s Hampus (INTCH DKCH Baloo x DKCH Juno). Then Lene gave us the opportunity to look after a pregnant bitch “Canja” and her litter. Bang-P’s Canja stayed with us for the rest of her life and with her a puppy Bang-Ps Neser-Blue (DKCH KBHV80 Bang-P’s Hamsen x DKCH Canja). Then Connie Jensen, Kennel Faxbo got some Polish dogs, and together with her own breeding it gave some very interesting puppies, and in 1984 we got Faxbos Brindle Crean (DKCH INTCH KBHV83 Faxbos Augustus x DKCH Zoo Na Wyspie Wiza). Crean was our first DKCH, and we were so very proud. The next dog we got was Faxbos Q-do (DKCH Faxbos Ino x Adonis) he became DKCH and KLBCH and was a wonderful dog. At this time we had known Elsebet Verner Petersen “Kennel Anduin” some years, and it was the start of a close friendship, which we still cherish and which also gave us the friendship to Randi Kontni and Holger Prahm. Randi has kennel Crathlinth and is now breeding Scottish Deerhounds. Randi Kontni had got two Deerhounds from Conny Fernhout, Kennel Pitlochry, and after the tragic scenario, in which one of the Deerhounds disappears and is not found again – despite a half year of searching, Randi is going to Holland to pick up a 7 month female deerhound. We had on an exhibition in Denmark seen Nash from the Good Heath and his son Quincy of Kilmara, and was very hooked on getting a puppy after Nash. And at the time Randi is going to pick up her deerhound, Conny Fernhout has a puppy after Nash and Akins Lotte, Pitlochry’s Djinn. He became ours and with him many experiences and friends around Europe and further away – Irina in Russia. With Djinn, we wanted to do a litter, but could not find the right bitch. So we agreed that it was not at this time, that we should do this litter. Then Antje Peisker came to visit Djinn with her “Dark Mystic’s Impulse”, and when we saw this bitch and saw pictures of her mother and siblings, and knowing that her father was Curoi Jazz, then we were ready for a new puppy. Dark Mystic’s Marauder (Manley) was the next member of our family and with him many victories in shows in Denmark and abroad. He was a great travel companion on our many trips around Europe. With Manley, we were in no doubt, that we had to get a puppy after him, and we had looked at Tina Otto’s Cooladerra Stardust (Dusty), and when Tina did not ask us, we had to a ask ourselves! So we became the owner of our sweetest dog ever, Rabbitville Dian. He managed at the age of two years in 2008 to become World Winner 2008 and DKCK, KLBCH and INTCH and DKK Breed Winner. Then Hanne Böckhaus came to Manley with Dahmrak’s Dejlige Denise and then Eikica Incredible Isaac arrived a few months later. Isaac managed – like the three previous dogs – to be DKCH at his first show after he was 2 years. He has shown real show quality, like his brother Dian, his father and grandfather.
